Nice.

This game reminds me of that game made a long time ago for Macs, looked almost exactly the same as this one... swat the bees, flies, whatever, using a human hand and protecting your arm. Also looks like the first game I ever submitted to Newgrounds, but you did a better job with yours. Overall, I thought it was pretty good. Like other reviewers, I would agree that it could use a bit of work, but otherwise, it is a good start. Keep up the good work.

The game was 'Bloodsuckers' by Pangea. I used to play it all the time at school, oh so long ago.

Interesting Game

Very interesting concept for a game. Pretty original, I haven't really seen anything like this before. Potion clicking fun is always great. Only work that could be done were the graphics and having an initial difficulty set. Overall, it was a good game. Good job.

Hey thank you! I cant really draw in Flash so Im sorry about the graphics, and Im glad you think it was good!

It's good

I have seen many of these before, and have witnessed many of them being totally trashed for being awful. On the otherhand, this one is pretty good. I am not going to say it's perfect, but it is pretty good. The graphics are far better than most I have seen, and it has some interesting flare. The radio station idea is awesome, I loved that. The costom decal is awesome, but I could not get it to work, I may just not be doing it correctly. I had trouble typing in anything. Print button was awesome, I haven't actually seen anyone script that before... I always look at it when I am creating flash and I ponder who would ever use it. Good idea. Things to work on... color options on the bumpers and elsewhere are a bit tricky, so color swatches to click would be easier to work with. The decals were awesome, but an easier scaling mode would be better. Backgrounds would be great too. Overall, nice job, good effort, and keep going with this.

thanx, that was the kind of review i was looking for

We all start somewhere

Hey, congratulations on your first submission, it wasn't blammed so be happy for that.

Secondly, it was not too bad. Im not going to lie to you, but it definitely needs a lot of work. But you still have some pretty awesome stuff going on for being a new flasher. First of all, never ever make such a complex button system, it hurts my mind. Secondly, your frame-by-frame animation is pretty good. I would singly work on that instead of doing everything else. Work on your animation and drawing skills. It took me a while to figure out exactly what I am good at, and it will probably be the same for you. Out of everything you have done on this flash, your simple animations were the best. Your dress up the worst, haha. Really, I think you can do some pretty good animation if you practiced a lot, a whole lot, and keep submitting. Move your frame rate up to 24 fps, and get creative like you were in animations 1-4. Otherwise, enjoy.

Foreverkul responds:

thanks. I know it is kinda low frame rate, but i didnt notice how low it was till i was done :P Im not sure what you mean by 'complex button system" tho. An actually, ive submitted other stuff, but that was when i only had the trial. NOW i can actually take my time and do good stuff since i have the full version. :)

okay

Snake is one of the most over emulated games, ever. However, I thought you made a pretty good version. The transparent snake was a good touch, and the color schemeing was awesome. The controls were very responsive, and I like the fact that it is not stuck to a grid. Many snake games are stuck to a grid, which is quite annoying.

For fixes, I would edit your code a bit so that if you rehit any part of your snake, you die. I noticed you can move yourself into your snake or the walls a bit. Secondly, make the "apples," or blocks in your case, appear within the boundries. I had a few hit outside the wall, and even though I could hit it with the forgiving snake you made, they should land somewhere close to the inside of the box.

Anyways, great job, I hope you can revamp this version and get an awesome game going. One thing I do not see much is levels with walls, where you have to get like 20 apples before you can move on. Keep it up.

Thank you very much for the constructive tips/suggestions. I will diffenatly take all that into consideration before making the next version.I really liked your idea of getting a certain amount of blocks to go to the next level. Thanks again.

I love the artwork

The graphics before the games were pretty awesome, it looked like you put a lot of hard work into it. Pretty unique, great job, and keep up the great work.

The game selector graphics only took a few minutes =D

Good start!

First submission? Not bad, I really liked the concept of the game. The animation cut scenes made it interesting too! I think there is definitely some work to be done on this one. I like the style of the game, very fun. The parallaxing effect in the background is good too. The characters need to be worked on, and the hitArea of the characters should be slightly larger. Other than that... finish it! Youve got potential with this game!

Nice

I've seen it before, but hey, it was still good. I really do not have the time to figure out the logistics and math involved, but it was still a good trick. Nice job, interesting submission for NG.

TheUltimateMe responds:

Thank you jmtb02.

Not a tutorial to blam!

This is great, everyone is so used to seeing tutorials for rollovers, custom cursors, or whatever on NG. Problem is that this doesnt help control the crap that comes in. At least with a tutorial for sprites now, it may not be a huge difference, but we may see less crap going through with horrible cutouts and animation. Maybe not, i dunno, but it should help. Good job, keep up the good work.

We can hope, can't we? We'll find out.

Thanks for the review.

awesome

I totally forgot about this game! HAHA! This is great so far, if you want some advice...

The programming seems well done, and the animation is okay. The graphics are a little bit raw, so some clean up of the gradients and line fills would be awesome.

Levels! It was about a 12 second gobble fest, and that was it. What I would do is either put more balls in, add more balls when they run out, or make the levels harder and harder. If you want to go for originality, put in balls that give you power ups or subtract or add balls. If you want to keep the original game style, leave it be.

This awesome, I gave it a four because I do not think anyones attempted this game before, very fun and very original. Congratulations!
