World of Goo and Video Game Soundtracks

Posted by jmtb02 - August 20th, 2009

I don't know how many of you have played World of Goo yet but it's an amazing little journey and I found the trip very worthwhile. One of the big takeaways from the game was the fantastic music, which I have come to enjoy a little too much. Luckily 2D Boy has released the soundtrack for free so I can listen to it over and over again without having to sit down and play the game each time.

I rarely listen to video game music, but there are few soundtracks i have found incredibly enjoyable. Games like Earthbound and Fallout 3 invoke some sort of pseudonostalgic sensation that lets me enjoy the game past having to handle a controller. Really makes me appreciate the effort that goes into video game music direction.

Speaking of video games, no PAX for me this year, but for everyone else going have a safe trip and fun time.

Yeah, World Of Goo really is awesome. it was quite challenging sometimes, but it was really worth it!

Thanks for the soundtrack link!

World of Goo was a great game! I got it for PC and Wii!
Also, Do you make a living off selling games to armor games?

I work at the Armor Games office :).

Where is the Armor Games office located? L.A.?

Cool world of goo is the best wiiware game ever don't you think? and thanks for the link that mucic is awesome!

Pff, I shoulda known... Great new games, BTW

Definitely did the exact same thing. I explicitly downloaded the soundtrack right after beating the game. Didn't use many skips until the epilogue- that kicked my ass...

I totally recommend the soundtrack to the freeware game Cave Story.

After all these months I'm still listening to it. :D

I love the World of Goo soundtrack! I'm glad I'm not the only one who does. ^^

>:(
Ok, since you would not answer my question, I had to look it up myself. the Armor Games Headquarters is located in Irvine, California.

never knew programmer gods liked video game music so much. but besides the kiss ass, world of goo was great. i was actually a member of exerimentalgameplay.com before world of goo came out.

Irvine, California? O RLY?

Good to hear that someone thought similarly to me on the soundtrack.
Loved the ending :D And at some points, when I didn't have a clue what to do, the music usually let go of the frustration... and one word: BASSSSSSSSS.

i hit you mannnn

What's with the elephant? What are you a Republican?

I know you've probably already answered this (and I think you said no,) and you might not reply, but are you Republican or something?

I saw your power of three game on armor games. frontier is great, but how the hell do i heal?
